Infrastructure as Code on AWS

Terraform TerraTowns Infrastructure

Built AWS infrastructure using Terraform while developing reusable modules, working with Terraform state and variables, and integrating a custom Terraform provider as part of the TerraTowns Terraform Bootcamp project.

Overview

An Infrastructure as Code project built around TerraTowns, a community platform where participants provisioned and deployed their own "Terra House" websites using Terraform.

My implementation went beyond individual Terraform resources to include a reusable AWS module, Terraform variables and outputs, AWS CLI workflows, shell tooling and integration with the custom TerraTowns provider.

  • HCL
  • Terraform modules
  • variables and outputs
  • Terraform state and changesets
  • custom Terraform provider integration
  • AWS infrastructure provisioning

Engineering evidence

The repository contains the Terraform configuration alongside a reusable terrahome_aws module, custom TerraTowns provider, supporting scripts and project journals documenting the infrastructure work and troubleshooting process.

Note

This project was completed as part of the 2023 Terraform Beginner Bootcamp and is retained as evidence of hands-on Terraform, AWS and Infrastructure as Code experience. The infrastructure is not presented as currently running in production.
